Hey Grade 3 and 4 readers! Grab an adult, and come participate in the Library’s first ever Parent and Child Book Club!  We’ll discuss great books, talk about how to write a book review (and offer you a chance to film your review and see it on our webpage!), plus do lots of fun activities and games together!

Paws 4 Stories is an awesome program for beginning and struggling readers who like dogs!  It’s an exciting opportunity to read aloud to a dog and make a friend!

Dogs and their owners are trained and generously provided by St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program.

Many children find that reading aloud to a trained dog is much less stressful than reading to a person, which helps encourage them and allow them to enjoy reading!

March Break: Mad Science: Spin, Pop and BOOM!

This thrilling performance will explore a combination of chemistry and physics. Audiences will be amazed by our colour change demonstration. Children will be awed as the Mad Scientist creates an extra hand to help with our experiments. Children will witness a number of exothermic reactions that will produce a Genie Out of a Bottle and a Giant Foam Snake. The fundamental forces of planet Earth will be summoned as the Mad Scientist turns a glass of water upside-down without spilling a drop. We will also challenge the odds with a bungee jumping glass bottle.
