Aging as Living in Time: a discussion

Age As Living In Time: A Discussion
October 3rd, 7:00pm to 8:30pm
The picture of old age as being a time of inevitable decline is fraught with all sorts of assumptions that are deeply ingrained in our culture. In the book Natural Order, the central character Joyce Sparks exemplifies many of the conventional qualities of old age – regret, sadness, loss, denial. In the end, however, Joyce illustrates how even in old age, it is possible to learn, grow and become a better and more whole human being.
Join the Tuesday Philosophy Club for a discussion on the meaning and philosophy of old age as understood by thinkers such as Plato, Heidegger, Buddha and others, and consider their philosophical insights to gain a better understanding of Joyce Sparks’ life journey.
